Apple-Cherry Dump Cake

Ingredients

Nonstick cooking spray

1 cup plain yogurt
½ cup milk
1 egg
3 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon apple pie spice
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped apples
½ cup chopped walnuts, toasted
½ cup dried tart cherries
Ice cream (optional)

Directions

Lightly coat a 3 1/2- or 4-qt. slow cooker with cooking spray. In a large bowl combine yogurt, milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla. Stir in next five ingredients (through salt). Stir in apples, walnuts, and cherries. Spoon batter into prepared cooker.

Cover and cook on low 2 1/4 to 2 3/4 hours or until cake registers 190°F to 200°F and center appears nearly set, giving crockery liner a half-turn halfway through, if possible.

Turn off cooker. If possible, remove crockery liner from cooker. Cool, uncovered, 10 minutes. Remove cake; cool completely on a wire rack. If desired, serve with ice cream.
