Crockpot Coca-Cola Pulled Pork

Ingredients

2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoons pepper
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
3-4 pounds pork shoulder or butt
2 liters coke
1½ cups hickory BBQ sauce

Directions

Whisk together the garlic powder, onion pepper, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika in a small bowl.

Place the pork in the crock pot and rub the seasoning mix over the meat. Pour enough coke into the crockpot so that it almost covers the meat. Pro tip: Pour the soda down the side of the crockpot so as to avoid rinsing the seasoning off of the meat.

Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 5-6 hours.

Remove all but 1/4 cup of liquid from the crockpot and shred the pork. Shred it with 2 forks (or a meat puller) in the basin of the crockpot along with the remaining juices. You can remove the meat from the crockpot to pour the juice out and then put the meat back in to shred it!

Finish it off by adding the BBQ sauce.

Serve on buns or alone.
