Lentil, Sausage and Cabbage Slow Cooker Cholent
Ingredients
4 cups water
1 can (28 ounces) diced or crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 pound smoked sausage, sliced (any kind will work)
1/2 pound brown or green lentils, rinsed
1 medium onion, chopped
2 celery ribs, chopped
3 carrots, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 head green cabbage or 3 cups shredded
1 bay leaf
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
Directions
In a 4- or 5-qt. slow cooker, combine all ingredients.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until ready to serve.
