Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos
Ingredients
2 skinless boneless chicken breasts
Taco Seasoning Blend:
1 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to your spice preference
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
For Serving:
Taco shells or tortillas
Chopped tomatoes
Shredded lettuce
Shredded cheddar cheese
Sour cream
Directions
In a jug, mix together all the ingredients for the homemade taco seasoning.
Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker.
Pour the homemade taco seasoning over the chicken breasts.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours or on high heat for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and easily shredded.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks.
Return the shredded chicken to the slow cooker and mix it with the remaining juices and seasonings to enhance the flavor.
Serve the slow cooker chicken in taco shells or tortillas.
Top with chopped tomatoes, shredded lettuce, shredded cheddar cheese, and sour cream.
